Our Story
Nanboya is an international luxury goods buying company with over 10 years of experience. It is also the main subsidiary of the Valuence Group, with more than 100 buying offices in the world. The Valuence Group was founded by Shinsuke Sakimoto. He was a professional midfielder in the J-League football team Gamba Osaka. After retiring from his sporting career, he decided to work at his father’s recycling shop. During this experience, he realised the huge potential in the market of pre-loved luxury items and that is why in 2007 he decided to open a luxury item buying shop in the Kansai region of Japan. He later named it Nanboya, which means “how much” in the regional dialect. Being a midfielder, he knew how important it is to read the game and the players before choosing the next move. He shot and scored: In 2011, he founded SOU inc. (now Valuence Holdings Inc.) and invested in buying offices all over Japan, incorporating antiques and art into his inventory. In the same year, he led Valuence to an IPO on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. All these accomplishments are just the beginning since Shinsuke Sakimoto keeps working and leading his team in the expansion of Nanboya and Valuence into APAC, the US and Europe.
